Bihar Cabinet set to expand

The Cabinet expansion of the Samrat Choudhary-led Government in Bihar is scheduled for Thursday in the presence of top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, and other senior leaders, including NDA CMs. It will be PM Modi’s first visit to Bihar after the BJP’s massive victory in West Bengal and grand preparations are underway for his reception.
Choudhary was sworn in as the chief minister of Bihar on April 15, the first from the saffron party to hold the position in the State. It came after Bihar’s longest-serving CM Nitish Kumar resigned from the post to join the Rajya Sabha.
Along with Choudhary, JD(U)’s Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav had taken oath as members of the Council of Ministers.
“It was already decided by NDA parties that cabinet expansion will take place once the results of all five Assembly elections are out. Now, the time has arrived for a full-fledged cabinet expansion,” Union Minister of Food Processing Industries and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJP(RV)) national president, Chirag Paswan told reporters in Patna.
To a question on how many LJP(RV) MLAs will take oath as ministers, Paswan said he didn’t “see any reason to change the formula from the preceding cabinet.”
