Twisha Sharma Death Case: Bhopal court extends Judicial custody of Samarth Singh, Giribala Singh till july 14

A Bhopal court extended the judicial custody of Samarth Singh and his mother, Giribala Singh, till July 14 in connection with the alleged dowry harassment and death case of Twisha Sharma. The order came after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sought an additional 14-day extension to continue its probe.
The accused were produced before the court through video conferencing after the expiry of their previous judicial remand. During the hearing, the CBI informed the court that the investigation was still underway and that more time was needed to complete key aspects of the probe, including recording witness statements and examining digital evidence.
Twisha Sharma's family counsel, Ankur Pandey, said the investigating agency argued that forensic analysis of seized mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices is still in progress. The CBI also informed the court that one password-protected laptop is yet to be accessed, making further investigation necessary.
After hearing arguments from both the prosecution and the defence, the court allowed the CBI's plea and extended the judicial custody of both accused until July 14. The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for the same day.
The case pertains to the death of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, a resident of Noida, who was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12. Her family has alleged that she was subjected to dowry harassment and mental cruelty by her husband and in-laws. The investigation was later transferred to the CBI, which continues to probe the circumstances surrounding her death.
