Bhilai nursing student stabbed to death inside PG room; Police launch hunt for accused

A 19-year-old nursing student was allegedly stabbed to death by an unidentified assailant inside her paying guest (PG) accommodation in Chhattisgarh's Bhilai on Friday, prompting police to launch a manhunt for the accused.
The victim, identified as Khushi Sahu, was a resident of Kumhi village in Bemetara district. She had shifted to Bhilai around two weeks ago to pursue a nursing course at a private college and was also working at a café in Vaishali Nagar to support her education.
According to police, Khushi was alone in her rented room in Ramnagar when the attacker entered. Her roommate had stepped out to use the bathroom at the time. The assailant allegedly stabbed her more than 10 times in the stomach, back and hands before fleeing the scene.
The incident came to light when the roommate returned and found Khushi lying in a pool of blood. The house owner was immediately alerted, following which police and emergency services rushed to the spot.
Khushi was taken to a hospital in Supela, where doctors declared her dead.
Police and crime branch teams have registered a murder case and launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined, while several people are being questioned to identify and trace the accused. No arrests have been made so far, and the motive behind the killing is yet to be established.
