Bengaluru daycare abuse: Parents say toddlers developed fear of bathrooms after alleged mistreatment

More parents have come forward in the Bengaluru daycare abuse case, claiming their toddlers showed unusual behavioural changes after attending the childcare facility located inside the Capgemini campus in Brookefield. One family told police that their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter developed an intense fear of bathrooms and would cry or try to run away whenever taken near one.
They now believe the behaviour is linked to the alleged abuse captured in viral videos from the daycare.
According to investigators, the videos show caretakers yelling at children and, in one instance, locking a toddler inside a bathroom for crying. Police have arrested a 55-year-old nanny in connection with the incident and are questioning other caregivers as the investigation continues.
Officials said that while some allegations, such as children being locked inside washing machines or sprayed with toilet jets, are still being verified, evidence clearly points to harsh treatment of toddlers.
The incident has sparked outrage among parents and child rights groups, raising serious concerns over safety standards at corporate daycare centres. Capgemini has temporarily shut the facility, assured full cooperation with the investigation, and said it is providing counselling, helpline support and flexible work arrangements for affected families.
