Couple found dead under suspicious circumstances in locked room in UP

A 28-year-old man and his 26-year-old wife were found dead under suspicious circumstances inside a locked room in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Tuesday.

The couple, identified as Manoj and Manju Devi, lived with their two children in Peer Gedas village under the Gaidas Buzurg police station area.

Police said family members became concerned when the couple did not come out of their room by Monday afternoon. They tried to open the door but received no response.

The family then broke open the door and found Manoj and Manju Devi unconscious on the bed inside the room, which had been locked.

They were rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared both of them dead.

Additional Superintendent of Police Vishal Pandey said the bodies had been sent for post-mortem examination.

Police are investigating the deaths and examining the circumstances from various angles. Further details are awaited.
