Amit Shah inaugurates Delhi Library, says Nation's future reflected in young readers

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated a newly developed public library in Delhi and stressed that the future of the country is reflected in the number of young people who cultivate the habit of reading.
Addressing the gathering, Shah said a strong reading culture is essential for building an informed, innovative and progressive society. He noted that libraries play a crucial role in nurturing knowledge, critical thinking and intellectual growth among the youth.
"The future of the country is reflected in the number of young readers," Shah said, urging students and young citizens to make reading a lifelong habit.
The Home Minister said libraries are not merely repositories of books but centres of learning, innovation and social transformation. He emphasised that easy access to quality reading material helps empower individuals and contributes to nation-building.
Highlighting the government's efforts to improve educational and cultural infrastructure, Shah said modern libraries equipped with digital resources can inspire the younger generation to pursue knowledge beyond classrooms.
He also encouraged parents and educational institutions to motivate children to spend more time reading books instead of relying solely on digital entertainment.
The newly inaugurated library is expected to provide readers with modern facilities, a wide collection of books and digital learning resources, creating an inclusive space for students, researchers and the general public.
Shah reiterated that promoting reading habits among children and youth would play a significant role in shaping India's future as a knowledge-driven society.
