Adani Group begins work on Rs 1,060 cr Guna cement plant

Marking a significant milestone in the industrial landscape of Madhya Pradesh, the Adani Group on Sunday performed the bhoomi pujan for its new cement grinding unit in Guna.
The project, representing an investment of over Rs 1,060 crore, is the largest ever for the district and is expected to generate approximately 1,500 direct and indirect jobs.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, alongside State Power Minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar and Food & Civil Supplies Minister Govind Singh Rajput.
Addressing the gathering, Pranav Adani stated that this project is a firm step towards fulfilling the Rs 110,000 crore investment pledge made by Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani during last year’s Global Investors Summit.
“This is not merely an investment in a cement plant; it is an investment in the future of the local youth and a partnership for the progress of the State,” Pranav said.
The Guna plant will be executed in two phases with an annual capacity of 40 lakh metric tonnes. The first phase is slated for commissioning by 2028. Beyond employment, the project is projected to contribute over Rs 6,000 crore to the State treasury over its lifespan, while bolstering local supply chains and small businesses.
Pranav lauded the State’s leadership, noting that Madhya Pradesh’s GDP is projected to exceed Rs 15 lakh crore in 2025. He attributed the robust investment climate to the PM Gati-Shakti Vision, which has enhanced logistics and industrial infrastructure.
Highlighting the Group’s existing footprint, he noted that Adani Power currently supplies 1,200 MW to the State, with preparations underway to generate an additional 5,600 MW.
The Group has also commissioned wind energy projects in Dhar, Ratlam, and Ujjain, with plans for another cement plant in Ujjain soon.
The Group aims to reach a broader national capacity as it expands beyond its current 109 MTPA. Pranav emphasised that the goal remains to ensure high-quality cement reaches the public at lower costs.
By 2030, the Group’s various initiatives across hydro-pumped storage, mining, and green technology are expected to create 120,000 new jobs across Madhya Pradesh.
Expressing gratitude to the State administration, Pranav added, “Thanks to the Government’s efforts, the pace of decision-making has accelerated, creating a positive environment for industries.”
