Tension prevailed in Pasin Dhakwa village in Sushant Golf City police station area after a youth was beaten to death over a row over a girl on Wednesday night.

The slain youth was accused of eloping with the girl and was jailed for it. He had come out of jail on bail four days ago. The girl had been recovered four days after she was reported missing.

A heavy police force is camping in the village and the cops are keeping a close watch on every minute detail. The situation is said to be tense but under control.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Keshav Kumar said the police force was deployed in the village around 8 pm immediately after the news of the youth’s murder reached them. He said the situation was under control.

As per reports, Amit Kumar of Pasin Dhakwa, a Pasi community dominated village in Sushant Golf City police area, was attacked with an axe and sticks around 7-8 pm on Wednesday and he was fatally injured. Amit was attacked, allegedly by the family members of a girl whom he loved and for whose love he had served a jail term following a brawl over the issue.

On the fateful day he had gone to meet the girl. The girl’s brothers are suspected to have murdered him.

After the incident, all four brothers of the girl absconded. The police have taken the girl into custody and she is being questioned for extracting from her the sequence of the incident.

Amit Kumar (21) used to work as a labourer. He was having an affair with the girl from the same village and the same community. Police investigation revealed that the girl had called Amit to meet her outside the village at around 6:30 pm on Wednesday evening. When Amit reached there, her brothers Shatruhan, Man Bharan, Ravi and Ramashankar also reached there, all armed with an axe and sticks.

Amit’s grandfather Chhotelal alleged that in the presence of the girl, her four brothers attacked Amit, causing a deep cut in his neck with an axe. When he was injured, they beat him brutally with sticks. When he fell down bleeding, the assailants took him for dead and fled the scene.

After getting information from the villagers, the victim’s family members rushed to the spot and took the injured Amit to a nearby private hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.

As the news of Amit’s death reached the village, the locals split into rival camps, ready to attack each other. On getting information, a police force from Sushant Golf City police station rushed to the village and prevented a clash. The police also sent the body for post-mortem.

Amit’s grandfather alleged that the girl had conspired with her brothers to get Amit killed.

The police have registered a murder case against the girl and her brothers on Chhotelal’s complaint and are looking for the absconding brothers.

The girl reportedly told the police that she killed Amit and not her brothers. The police suspect she has owned up the murder to save her brothers.

The girl told the police that Amit used to harass her so she called him and killed him by hitting him with an axe.
