Bokaro | 15th August, 2024 – Vedanta ESL Steel Limited, a prominent integrated greenfield steel producer in India and a part of the Vedanta Group, celebrated the nation's 78th Independence Day with great patriotic zeal and joy at its Siyaljori plant in Bokaro. The event, which began at 9 AM, highlighted ESL's commitment not only to the nation’s economic growth but also to the social development of the communities where it operates.

The celebrations commenced with an impressive Guard of Honour presented by the Security Department personnel, followed by the hoisting of the Indian tricolor. The event was graced by a motivational address from  Ashish Kumar Gupta, Whole Time Director & CEO of ESL Steel Limited, who emphasized the integral relationship between community growth and business success. He proudly stated that ESL Steel Limited is not just a steel producer but also a key player in empowering local communities for a brighter future for both the state and the nation.

The event saw the participation of around 100 people, including local community members and employees. Notable attendees included  Ravish Sharma (Chief Operating Officer, ESL Steel Limited), Anand Dubey (Chief Finance Officer, ESL Steel Limited),  Vijay Sindhu (Chief Security Officer, ESL Steel Limited),  Meenakshi Sabharwal (Chief Quality Officer, ESL Steel Limited), and  Divya Tripathi (Head – Policy & Business Promotion).

In his address, CEO Gupta also highlighted that ESL Steel Limited is poised for significant growth, with a focus on resolving legacy issues and accelerating its expansion within the year. He reaffirmed the company’s ethical commitments and its dedication to community development, a commitment recognized through numerous national and international awards.
