Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the syllabus related to constitutional values would be included in the school curriculum and the Government was giving special preference to impart quality education and apprise the students about their duties and responsibilities for their all-around development.
Presiding over a review meeting of the Education Department, Sukhu said that six schools each, in every assembly constituency would be equipped with all the necessary facilities like adequate staff and other infrastructural conveniences viz: labs, library etc. He directed the officers to complete all the formalities for setting up these schools in a time bound manner and directed them to prepare parameters for their administrative control. A calendar of activities for the whole year will be prepared for all schools, which will contain details of academic and other activities of each day, he stated.
As a part of 'Vyavastha Parivartan', innovative measures were being adopted to bring rationalisation in the education department. Besides, steps were being taken for deployment of teachers and strengthening the educational infrastructure. He said that the headmaster or principal of the school will have to regularly send the information of teachers departing on leave to the Deputy Director's office. This will help in ensuring the presence of teachers in schools as well.
Sukhu while discussing the 'Guest Teacher Policy' said that it would help in maintaining continuity in teaching and learning process. In case the regular teacher of the educational institution goes on leave, the services of qualified teachers will be taken and this will also not disrupt the studies of the children.
He said that in order to strengthen the higher education system, the process of rationalization is being adopted in colleges also. Along with the inclusion of new subjects in the colleges, their rationalization is also being done.
Controlled atmosphere storage capacity of HPMC doubled in two years: CM
Controlled atmosphere (CA) storage capacity of Himachal Pradesh Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) has been doubled during the last two years, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Tuesday.
The total CA storage capacity has been increased from 3,380 MT before 2023 to 8,260 MT across seven CA stores in the state, he said, adding that with this initiative thousands of families associated with the horticulture sector were getting benefitted and getting better prices for their produce during the off-season.
In a statement issued here, he said that HPMC has expanded its infrastructure to support agricultural produce and to further support horticulturists and farmers. The government has also reduced CA booking rates from Rs 2 per kg per month to Rs 1.60 per kg per month. The capacity of the Gumma CA store has been increased from 640 MT to 2,017 MT, while the Jarol-Tikker CA store now holds 2,062 MT, up from 640 MT. Similarly, the Rohru CA store capacity has been enhanced from 700 MT to 2031 MT. Apart from this, new CA stores have been established at Reckong Peo with a capacity of 250 MT and Chachyot with 500 MT to facilitate the farmers.
