Shashwat Institute of Teachers Education observes Cleanliness Fortnight

Swachhta Pakhwada is being organized in the Shashwat Institute of Teachers Education from 17 September to 2 October, 2024, titled Swachhta Hi Seva. The main objective of this fortnight is to increase public awareness among the people towards cleanliness.
Many programs were organized in the college under the aegis of National Service Scheme, which was conducted by Nagendra Kumar, Program Officer of National Service Scheme of the college. The program started with Swachhta Pledge. Principal Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha administered the Swachhta Pakhwada to all the people present in the college auditorium. In the first phase of cleanliness drive, the college campus was cleaned which included the administrative office, teachers' hall, all the teaching rooms, laboratories, library and canteen.

All the trainees were divided into groups for the execution of cleanliness related works of the college. Under the second phase of cleanliness drive, complete cleanliness drive was started from the college itself by removing weeds from the bus stand, bicycle stand, playground and garden located in the college. In the third phase of the Swachhata Hi Seva programme, all the trainees went in the form of a rally to the village Rukka adopted by the college, carrying placards with cleanliness related slogans in their hands and also staged a street play to spread the message of cleanliness among the people along with creating awareness in the parts of the village.

In the final phase of the program, an essay competition was organized in the college on the topic "Cleanliness is Service", in which all the trainees of the B.Ed. Course associated with the college participated. The winning participants of the essay were honoured with certificates by the program officer and the Principal of the college.

Lecturers: Dr. Rashmirati, Dr. Anjali Kumari, Dr. Binita Kumari, Dr. Bajrangi Mandal, Dr. Parminder Kaur, Dr. Nitesh Suman and all the trainees played an important role in the successful conduct of the programme.
