RMNH organises temporary photography exhibition

Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal (A Regional Centre of National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi) and SNHC, India Bhopal jointly organized a Temporary Photography Exhibition 'Lesser Know Avian & Mammalian Species of M.P." on 3rd March, 2024 on the occasion of World Wildlife Day. VN Ambade, IFS, PCCF & Member Secretary MP State Biodiversity Board was the Chief Guest and K. Raman, IFS Retd, Former APCCF, MP was the Guest of Honor of the programme.

Chief Guest VN Ambade and Guest of Honour K Raman inaugurated the exhibition.  During the inauguration Scientist-C & Head of Office Beenish Rafat;  Scientist-C & Co-ordinator Manik Lal Gupta; Vikas Singh Baghel from SNHC, India Bhopal; Jackson Dukpa from Bhutan, Winners & participants of photography competition; Mohd. Khaliqe & Sangeeta Rajgeer from Bhopal Birds, Museum staff were present.

In the beginning of the inaugural programme, Scientist-C & Head of Office Beenish Rafat welcomed the Chief Guest VN Ambade,  Guest of Honour K Raman, Vikas Singh Baghel from SNHC, India Bhopal; Jackson Dukpa from Bhutan, Winners & participants of photography competition; Mohd. Khaliqe & Sangeeta Rajgeer from Bhopal Birds.

Beenish Rafat informed that museum organizes various programmes & activities to create awareness about environment and nature conservation. Hence, RMNH, Bhopal organized this exhibition on the topic 'Lesser Know Avian & Mammalian Species of M.P." on the occasion of World Wildlife Day in collaboration with SNHC India, Bhopal.

To select the Lesser Know Avian & Mammalian Species of MP a Photography Contest on the same theme was organized during February, 2024. A total 106 participants sent their entries for this competition. Out of this 20 photographs were selected to exhibit in this exhibition.

Guest of Honour K Raman wished during his speech that this type of activities should be continued to create awareness about Lesser Known Species among the general public.

Chief Guest VN Ambade Ji told that this exhibition which is inaugurated on the occasion of World Wildlife Day will be successful to create awareness about the Wildlife Conservation among the general public.

Chief Guest VN Ambade; Guest of Honor K Raman; and Scientist-C & Head of Office Beenish Rafat distributed the prize and certificates to the prize winners of Photography competition organized in February 2024.

The programme was concluded with vote of thanks proposed Mohd. Khalique from Bhopal Birds.
