The renovated Crane No. 25 at the Hot Strip Mill (HSM) of BSL (Bokaro Steel Limited) was inaugurated by Executive Director (HR & Additional Charge, Operations), Rajan Prasad. The event was attended by P.K. Baisakhia, Chief General Manager (Maintenance), J.V. Shekhar, Chief General Manager (Shops & Foundry), Vipin Kumar Singh, Chief General Manager of the Hot Strip Mill, along with other senior executives and employees.
Under the leadership of Vipin Kumar Singh, Chief General Manager of the HSM, a team led by Assistant General Manager S.K. Roy and Senior Manager S.S. Yadav took on the challenge of renovating the crane using internal resources. The 110-ton capacity Crane No. 25 was upgraded using innovative techniques, which not only saved costs but also set a new record. The crane’s tong was repaired internally, and with the assistance of the General Maintenance Department’s team, led by N.K. Behera, General Manager, and Rajesh Yadav, the crane was installed in just 16 hours, marking a significant achievement.
Rajan Prasad praised the efforts of all departments and personnel involved in the project, encouraging similar innovative initiatives in the future.
