A team led by Kotwali Dy SP raided near Lah Kothi Guava Garden. Seeing the police force, some people started running away. Police caught 2 of these people with brown sugar.

Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) had received secret information on December 28 that illegal drugs were being bought and sold near Lah Kothi Guava Garden ground in Sukhdev Nagar police station area. SSP informed the City Superintendent of Police (SP) about this.

The persons caught by the police include Himanshu Yadav alias Lalu Yadav, 19-year-old son of Vikram Yadav, resident of Budhi Center Gali, Baba Hospital Gali Ratu Road and Sushant Yadav alias Vicky Yadav, 21-year-old resident of Chudi Center Gali.

The police searched the arrested youths. During the search, police recovered 11 packets of brown sugar wrapped in a silver foil in 1 plastic packet from Himanshu, which weighed about 1.20 grams. Apart from this, police recovered a country-made iron pistol, Rs 1300 cash and a blue Realme smartphone from Himanshu.

Police recovered 9 packets of brown sugar wrapped in a silver foil in 1 plastic packet from Sushant Yadav, which weighed about 0.70 grams.

Both the accused have accepted that the narcotic substance in the seized packets was brown sugar. They told that they used to buy and sell brown sugar from some Bhabhi from Sasaram (Bihar). In this regard, a case has been registered against both the youths in Sukhdevnagar police station under Arms Act and Indian Penal Code and the matter is being investigated.
