Poster competition on Building ADR for patient safety held

The Department of Pharmacology, AIIMS Bhopal, which is a Regional Training Centre in Pharmacovigilance for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India, is celebrating the 4thNational Pharmacovigilance Week from September 17 to 23, 2024 under the aegis of the NCC-PvPI, IPC Ghaziabad.

As a part of the celebration, on  September 20, 2024, handmade and digital Poster Competition was organised on the topic "Building ADR Reporting Culture for Patient Safety" for MBBS and Nursing Students, residents and all staff and faculty of AIIMS Bhopal. Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh, Executive Director, AIIMS Bhopal said "By encouraging initiatives such as the poster competition on 'Building ADR Reporting Culture for Patient Safety,' we aim to engage not only our students and healthcare professionals but also instill the importance of vigilance and accountability in all aspects of patient care.

Pharmacovigilance is essential in identifying risks associated with medications, and timely reporting of ADRs can significantly contribute to safer therapeutic practices. I am pleased to see the enthusiastic participation from our MBBS and nursing students, residents, and faculty, as this reflects their dedication to upholding the highest standards of medical practice."

The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of reporting and developed the culture of reporting of adverse events related to medicinal products.

In the Handmade Category Mukesh Yadav, Social Worker, Biochemistry secured First Position, Prakash, Senior Nursing Officer, General Surgery Ward-1was secured Second Position and Third Position was secured by P Sreekari, MBBS Student 2022. In the Digital Category, First Position was secured by Vansh Patel, MBBS Student 2023, Second Position was secured by Ms. Bushra Siddiqui, PTS-III, Pharmacology & Third Position was secured by Dr Nikita Shrivastava, Assistant Professor, Urology.
