Ranchi Police have arrested two accused of beating a youth to death during Durga Puja.
On the instructions of SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha, the police team led by City SP Rajkumar Mehta took action and arrested Mantosh Kumar and Ayush Raj, residents of Vikas Nagar of Pandra OP area. It is worth noting that Rohit Tirkey, a youth injured in a brawl during Durga Puja, died during treatment.
This information was given by the City SP in a press conference on Monday.
On October 11, Rohit had gone to visit Durga Puja. During the puja, he got into an argument with some criminal youths. After the argument, the youths beat up Rohit, Rohit was badly injured in the assault. Rohit was admitted to the hospital for treatment. But he died on Sunday during treatment.
Enraged by Rohit's murder, the family members, along with the local people, blocked Lalpur Chowk with the body.
