Police arrest female naxalite carrying Rs 18 lakh reward

Hawkforce has succeeded in arresting a wanted female Naxalite Sajanti carrying a reward of Rs 18 lakh in the forest of Parsatola Chicharangpur in Balaghat district on Thursday.

The arrested female hardcore Naxalite Sajanti is a member of Khatia Mocha Area Committee of KB Division, this female Naxalite joined the Naxal organization in 2011 and was working as an active member of Khatia Mocha Dalam under KB Division in MMC Zone since 2016.

Pistol with a magazine and other items have also been recovered from this female Maoist. Female Naxalite Sajanti, wife of Ganesh, age about 32 years, is a resident of village Nainguda, outpost Kasanpur police station Kotmi, tehsil Etapalli, Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra.

On September 5, Hawk Force received information about the presence of Naxalites of KB Division in Parsatola Chicharangpur forest area under Thana Baihar area of Balaghat. Based on the information, a search operation was conducted in this area by Hawk Force Special Operation Group.

During the search, the police party saw two suspects. They were surrounded and a hardcore female Maoist of KB Division was caught and another member fled from the spot. A pistol with magazine and other items were recovered from this female Maoist, when the police party was returning with the said female Maoist, other Maoist members of KB Division in this area fired about 30-40 rounds on the police party with the aim of freeing their fellow member. In self-defense, the soldiers of Hawk Force fired back.

During the cross fire, the Naxalites took advantage of the darkness and fled. Intensive search operations are being conducted on a large scale in this area by CRPF Cobra and Hawk Force teams to apprehend the escaped Naxalites.

The arrested Naxalite Sajanti joined the Naxal organization in 2011 and has been involved in many incidents in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Since 2016, she was working as an active member of Khatia Mocha Dalam under KB Division in MMC Zone. 06 criminal cases are registered against her in Madhya Pradesh. Information about criminal cases registered in other states is being obtained.

As a result of the instructions and encouragement given by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, on 14 December 2023, a hard core Naxalite Madkam Hidma alias Chaitu (about 32-33 years), resident of village Pomra, police station Mirtur, district Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), carrying a reward of Rs 14 lakh, was killed. Out of turn promotion was given to 24 policemen involved in the operation. On April 1, 2024, 25 policemen who killed two hard core Naxalites carrying a reward under the anti-Naxal operation were also given out of turn promotion.

To boost the morale of the policemen and inspire them to do courageous actions, such encouragement is being given continuously by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and the Chief Minister himself went to Balaghat to rank the policemen who received out of turn promotion in the encounter on April 1.

On July 8, 2024, Hawkforce was successful in killing Naxalite Sohan alias Ukas alias Ayatu, who was carrying a bounty of Rs 14 lakh. In September 5, Hawkforce was successful in arresting female hardcore Naxalite Sajanti Pati Ganesh, who was carrying a bounty of Rs 14 lakh.

MP Police has achieved unprecedented success in the anti-Naxal campaign in the last two years. The number of Naxalites killed since 2022 till now is more than the total number of Naxalites killed in the last 20 years. For the first time, the state police killed three Naxalites of DVCM level, and three AK-47 rifles were seized from them. At the same time, Naxalite SZCM Ashok Reddy alias Baldev, who was carrying a bounty of Rs 82 lakh, has been arrested.
