Chief Minister Mohan Yadav says that the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is an emotionally sensitive initiative, which gives rise to a feeling of security and hope in every pregnant woman. With this, she can lay the foundation of a healthy and safe life not only for herself but also for the future of her child.
Motherhood is the most special and emotional experience of every woman's life. It is a journey that brings not only physical changes but also deeply affects at the mental and emotional level. Pooja Yadav, a resident of village Bilaikhar, Gram Panchayat Surajpura, Satna district, also supports this. Pooja says that becoming a mother is an important stage in life. Proper advice and assistance received at this time proves to be very helpful. Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana was launched with the aim of taking care of the safety, nutrition and health of pregnant women in India.
Pooja says that when she became pregnant for the first time, she learnt about Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana through an Anganwadi worker. Pooja received the first installment of three thousand rupees at the time of pregnancy registration. At this time, Pooja purchased nutrient-rich fruits, vegetables and other essential items. Pooja remained healthy throughout her pregnancy and after this she gave birth to a healthy child. After the birth of the child and getting the first vaccination, she received the second installment of Rs 2 thousand. Pooja considers the financial assistance received under PMMVY as a milestone.
It is noteworthy that more than 43 lakh women of the state like Pooja have got the benefit of PM Matru Vandana Yojana. Madhya Pradesh has been at the top position at the national level for 5 consecutive years from the inception of the scheme till the year 2022-23. Nutrition is always marginalized during pregnancy due to going on work and not having a good family situation.
In such a situation, Pradhan Mantri Matru-Vandana Yojana is being run with the aim of providing cash incentives to pregnant women as partial compensation for the loss of wages and encouraging the birth of a girl child on the second delivery. The scheme is being implemented in all the districts of the state under the National Food Security Act-2013. Since the inception of the scheme, about 43.81 lakh beneficiaries have been registered and Rs 1210 crore has been paid.
