Monday, 04 November 2024 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

A straight case of human trafficking was busted in the swiftest of action by the police of Nawa Bazar.

It was a sharp and flawless rescue and recovery. The festivity of Diwali would have ended up in tears.

Nawa Bazar police recovered a 3 years old girl child on November 2 who was stolen / kidnapped for sale on November 1.

Officer in charge of the Nawa Bazar police station Chintu Kumar told this correspondent today November 3 "We have recovered the stolen / kidnapped 3 years old girl from the jungles on the border of the police station limits of Nawa Bazar and Bishrampur on November 2."

The recovered girl child is 'all safe'. No harm has been done to her by her captors added the police officer Chintu Kumar. He said "It will be appreciable if her name is protected."

Giving details the police officer said "The episode is of Checharya village under the Nawa Bazar police station limits."

Here lives one 60 years old Kresh Bhuiyan with his three grand daughters including the stolen / kidnapped and rescued grand daughter.

Kresh Bhuiyan's son whose three daughters he is bringing up lives outside Jharkhand.

It's this old man Kresh who is everything to the three grand daughters who are in the age group of 3 to 12.

On November 1, two locals of Checharya village Sudai Bhuiyan, 35 and Shankar Ram, 50 spotted this 3 years old girl playing alone.

The two stole the girl by tempting her to eat biscuits etc.

Kresh Bhuiyan was not at home then.

It was in the evening when Kresh returned home, he found his three years old grand daughter missing.

Two other grand daughters were there in the house who had no knowledge as to where the third one was.

Kresh lodged a complaint with the Nawa Bazar police station on November 1.

He in his complaint hinted at 'a possible stealing / kidnapping of his grand daughter'.

He complained it so as some co villagers of him tipped off about this 3 years old girl being seen in the captivity of the two locals Sudai Bhuiyan and Shankar Ram.

Police officer Chintu Kumar said "We took this complaint in all seriousness. We finally tracked down the two Sudai and Shankar."

"The stolen girl was in the possession of another man Raju Bhuiyan, 32. He was not of Checharya. He was of a different police station Chhaterpur" added Chintu Kumar.

With the help of the technical inputs Raju's location was found in the jungles of the border of Nawa Bazar and Bishrampur police station limits.

"Police reached the exact location and there was Raju with the stolen girl child." police officer said.

Chintu Kumar said had the police team been any late Raju would have pushed off for some other locations with the stolen girl child.

Raju was taken into custody while the rescued child was restored to her grand father Kresh Bhuiyan.

Chintu Kumar said "It's a case of human trafficking. Police have invoked sections of the kidnapping and human trafficking as well against the three Raju, Sudai and Krishna".

The three were remanded to judicial custody today November 3.

All the 3 accused Sudai, Krishna and Raju are migrant workers and have come home for Diwali.

Police officer Chintu Kumar said as the trio were to return to their respective work place outside Jharkhand, they in their devilish mind decided to steal / kidnap the girl for sale at place outside Jharkhand to earn some extra money where they eke out their living.

However some Checharya village people had spotted Sudai and Krishna with the girl child and that proved their nemesis and the alert and sensitive Nawa Bazar police unfolded the case with a very safe and successful recovery of the stolen / kidnapped child.
