A one and a half year old child died after falling from a moving e-rickshaw late on Wednesday night in the Eintkhedi area, the accident occured after sudden brakes were applied by the driver.
After the postmortem on Thursday, the police handed over the body to the family. The police have registered a case and started an investigation in the matter.
According to the police, Vihit Ahirwar had a one and a half year old child named Harikash. His wife was riding the e-rickshaw with the child in her lap. The driver suddenly applied brakes in the Eintkhedi area. At this time the child was in the mother's lap. After applying the brake, the child slipped and fell on the ground.
After this, the family present on the spot took him to a private hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. The police, who reached the hospital after getting information, recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to Hamidia Hospital for postmortem.
The police said that after investigation, action will be taken against the person who was negligent in driving. Police are investigating the matter.
