Bharatiya Janata Party State in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam said that the party has set itself a big target for this Lok Sabha election. However, the party will achieve this target with the hard work of the party workers. At a time when no section of society has been left untouched by PM Narendra Modi’s guarantee, the Congress is guarantying false promises. The Congress should first implement these guarantees in the States where its government is in office, he said while interacting with the media after arriving here on a two-day State visit on Saturday.

He said that the BJP is committed to working with the people to make Uttarakhand an ideal State. The opinion of the people on how it wants development to take place is also being compiled. The party’s election manifesto will be based on public expectations and it will be executed by the new government, he said. “Our target is big so our party workers will also have to work harder. When we talk about winning the election by a margin of five lakh votes, each party worker feels his or her responsibility for achieving this target. The influence of works done by PM Modi is such that no voter or person is left untouched by it today. During his visit to Jammu and Kashmir the world saw how the people there thronged to welcome him,” he said.

On being asked about the guarantees announced by the Congress, he said that PM Modi’s guarantee is also a surety of the guarantee being fulfilled while the Congress guarantees lies. If the Congress is at all serious, it should first implement its guarantees in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana, where its governments are in office, Gautam said.

The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the party will leave no effort to achieve its aim of winning by a margin of more than five lakh votes. Taking a dig at the Congress, he said that the party which lacks the guarantee of surviving and where the workers have no guarantee of their leaders remaining in the party, should first guarantee that it will survive instead of making false promises to the public.
