Under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2.0, Municipality, Datia will build CT (Community Toilet) and PT (Public Toilet) toilets in Datia. These toilets are classified into two categories. One is Aspirational PT which is named High Tourist Footfall Area.
Public Toilets are where majority of tourists keep visiting. And the second category comes under Normal City (Community Toilet). These toilets will be built in backward classes and slums.
In fact, under Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, on the occasion of World Toilet Day in November 2022, the campaign was started in Bengaluru, Karnataka in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Urban and Housing Department. The objective of the mission is to make cities free from open defecation. The second major objective of the mission is to convert community toilets and public toilets.
In urban India, in which common citizens and urban local bodies have to work together. The Government of India has set aside Rs 1141600 for this. Out of which two and a half times the amount has been allocated to Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) 2.0. The first phase of this mission was launched in 2014. The Ministry of Housing and Development of the Government of India has instructed the state governments to build 25% new toilets. These are known as aspirational toilets.
This type of new toilet will have permanent electric lighting inside and outside. And automatic sanitary napkin incinerator facility will be available for women. Facility has been provided for feeding newborn babies. There will be touchless flushing facility.
There will be luxurious bath cubicles facility.
There will be a floor space of 1350 mm dept. and 900 mm.wdht. 11 such toilets are going to be constructed in Datia as well. In which five PT toilet blocks will be called Aspiration PT. In which a total of 60 seats will be installed. Municipal Council Chairperson Shanti Dhengula said that it is a coincidence that these toilets are going to be constructed during the Swachhta Pakhwada, due to which Datia is also going to live up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan 'Swachhata hi Sankalp'.
