Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has instructed the departmental officers to provide working capital to the needy street vendors in the urban areas by providing them loans as per their requirements. Madhya Pradesh has been consistently at the first position while performing best for the last three years in the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana in the state. Under this scheme, handcart drivers and street vendors in the urban areas of the state are being financially empowered by providing them loans of up to Rs 10 thousand, Rs 20 thousand, and Rs 50 thousand. Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana is being implemented in the state by the Urban Development and Housing Department.
Best performance in three years
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has said that Madhya Pradesh has been the best performer and has been holding the topmost position in the country in the last three years in Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana. So far, loans worth Rs 1769.16 crore have been provided to 12 lakh 30 thousand beneficiaries under PM Swanidhi Yojana. At present, 4 lakh 89 thousand street vendors of Madhya Pradesh are successfully engaging in digital transactions through which they have also received cashback of Rs 21 crore. To promote digital transactions under Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, training is also being provided to the beneficiaries in selected areas. During the Corona period in the state, a grant amount of Rs 1,000 was also provided by the state government to the previously registered street vendors of the unorganized sector. Street vendors are being continuously provided support for the banks by the civic bodies.
Beneficiaries were also given benefits of other schemes
Chief Minister Yadav has said that under the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, more than 16 lakh 17 thousand street vendors of the state have been provided with the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, Building and Other Construction Workers Act, Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana and the facility of Ek Rashtra-Ek Ration Card in National Food Security Act. Along with this, beneficiaries have also been linked to Janani Suraksha Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. PM Swanidhi Yojana is being successfully implemented in 413 urban bodies in the state.
