An. acquaintance raped a minor girl in Hussainabad police station area in Palamu. The girl, aged 11, was raped by a 22 year old youth at a village under the Hussainabad police station limits. The victim girl is a non tribal girl.
Officer in charge of the Hussainabad police station Sanjay Yadav said, "The incident of rape took place in the evening of Monday December 2."
The mother of the victim lodged the FIR with the Hussainabad police station today Tuesday December 3 said the police officer Yadav.
The mother has named accused Ravi Chouhan of the rape of her daughter in her statement to the police which the police recorded for instituting it as FIR.
Ravi Chouhan is a co villager of the victim girl. Both the families knew each other.
According to the FIR she was raped in a Arhar khet with mouth shut.
The victim girl is undergoing treatment at a government hospital under the same Hussainabad police station limits. Her condition is stable, said sources.
Police have registered the case under section 65 of the BNS along with various sections of the POCSO act.
"The rape accused Ravi Chouhan did try to escape to Allahabad. This attempt of his has been foiled by the police" added police officer Yadav.
However Ravi Chouhan has gone into hiding.
Yadav said "We have intensified our search for the accused who is losing time and space both. He will be caught soon."
