In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old girl was abducted and gang-raped in Meerut.

Police have registered a case and constituted three teams to nab the rapists.

The girl had gone to attend her sewing class and did not return home on Saturday evening. The family members were worried and started searching for her and found the girl in a nearby vacant house, bleeding and unconscious.

According to neighbours, a boy had brought the girl to the house and later several other boys joined him.

It is alleged that the girl was subjected to a brutal gang-rape, leading to her losing consciousness. The perpetrators reportedly fled the scene, leaving the girl in a critical condition.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has slammed the state government and demanded justice for the victim.

“The inaction of the government and administration in the matter of gang-rape of a minor in Meerut is as reprehensible as the incident itself. There should be justice!,” Yadav posted on X in Hindi.

Meanwhile, in another tragic incident reported from Bulandshahr district, a man, identified as Hasrat Ali, hanged himself to death. He was under severe financial and emotional distress.

Ali’s daughter-in-law had accused him of rape and demanded Rs 10 lakh for a settlement, a sum that Hasrat Ali was unable to pay. Hasrat Ali’s death has shocked family members and neighbours. Facing allegations of rape and unable to meet his daughter-in-law’s substantial financial demands, Hasrat Ali wrote a detailed suicide note before taking his own life.

According to sources, the note revealed his anguish over the financial pressures and the accusations he faced. The suicide note is a crucial piece of evidence in understanding the circumstances leading up to his tragic decision.

The family members claimed that the demand for Rs 10 lakh from his daughter-in-law, which came at a time when Hasrat Ali was already struggling with a dire financial situation and mental trauma of rape accusation, placed an unbearable burden on him, exacerbating his stress levels. Depressed with it, he finally decided to end his life. 

The local authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the case to unravel the exact details of the financial and legal pressures that culminated in this tragic event, with the aim of understanding the circumstances that drove Hasrat Ali to such a desperate measure.

Officials said that if rape charges were found to be false, action would be taken against the complainant.
