Maoist Ramdayal Mahto alias Bachchan Da, with a reward of Rs 10 lakhs, has surrendered. He was ill for the last few days.

On the initiative of the police of Giridih district, Ramdayal Mahto decided to surrender. Meanwhile, on Saturday, he surrendered in front of DIG Sunil Bhaskar, SP Vimal Kumar at the police office in Giridih.

On the occasion, 154th CRPF battalion's second-in-command Daljit Singh Bhati, 35th Vahini SSB's commandant Sanjeev Kumar and other police officers were present.

DIG Sunil Bhaskar said that influenced by the surrender and rehabilitation policy of Jharkhand government, Nayi Disha, a new initiative, the notorious Naxalite of CPI Maoist, Ramdayal Mahto alias Bachchan Da alias Amar Da, has surrendered. He will be given a reward of Rs 10 lakhs. Along with this, the benefits of the announced rehabilitation policy will also be given.

Bhaskar told that he has a long criminal history. 54 cases are registered in different police stations of Giridih. He is also involved in 11 cases in Dhanbad district. Ramdayal Mahato has committed many big crimes. His surrender has given a big blow to the Naxalite Maoist organization.

After the initiative of the then SP of Giridih Deepak Sharma, Ramdayal Mahato's son inspired his father to surrender. The rewarded and notorious Naxalite Ramdayal Mahato alias Bachchan Da, a resident of Pipradih of Pirtand police station area, was ill for the last few days.

Ramdayal Mahato alias rewarded has also worked with Naxalites Misir Besra, Prayag Manjhi, Anal Da alias Patiram Manjhi, Ajay Mahato alias Tiger, Krishna Hansda etc. Ramdayal Mahato alias Bachchan Da has been a member of the zonal committee in the Naxalite organization. He has committed many Naxalite crimes from Parasnath to Tundi. After the arrest of Krishna Hansda, a Naxalite with a reward of Rs 25 lakh, Ramdayal Mahato was the only one strengthening the organization in the Parasnath area.
