Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai attended the executive meeting of the All India Mayor Council in Dewas on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, council members discussed development of civic facilities and shared success stories from their respective areas.
Several of the speakers shed light on the use of technology in the promotion of civic amenities in urban areas.
Mayor Rai has been instrumental in the establishment of a series of welfare initiatives since taking charge of the Bhopal Municipal Corporations (BMC).
Under her instructions the BMC is running a campaign against encroachment, stray animals and a drive to arrest the spread of malaria, dengue and other seasonal diseases.
She has also established a dedicated mayoral helpline for civic complaints raised by women in the state capital.
Rai supervises the helpline every Tuesday and pushes for the redressal of complaints.Urban Development and Housing Minister Mrs. Pratima Bagri, Dewas MLA Gayatri Pawar, National Mayor Council President Madhavi Patel, National Mayor Council Secretary Umashankar Gupta, Dewas Mayor Geeta Agrawal, and mayors from across India attended the national level conclave.
