City police have arrested Kunal Thakur, the absconding accused in the case of murder of a Haryana based young woman in the hotel Square located in Bawadia Kalan, Bhopal.
In the case it was Kunal who dropped the woman to the hotel where the accused Ritul Pandey had murdered her in a brutal manner. On the information, the police caught Kunal from a house behind the private hospital in E-5, Arera Colony.
DCP Priyanka Shukla said that the body of a 27-year-old woman was found in the square room of the hotel late night on Saturday (13 April). On the basis of a short PM report, a case of murder was registered. In this case, four accused (main accused Ritul Pandey), Indra Bahadur (member of sex racket gang), Sagar (hotel employee) and Yogesh hotel manager have been arrested earlier. Three teams are engaged in search of the accused woman Mehak Yadav (leader of the sex racket gang). Accused Kunal Thakur was arrested on Thursday morning. He is under interrogation.
During interrogation, Kunal told the police that whenever any call woman of Mehak Yadav gang was booked, it was his responsibility to drop her to the customer and bring her back from there. Booking per woman was for four to five thousand rupees. For pick and drop, he used to get ten percent of the earning i.e. Rs 400 out of Rs 4000. The police are questioning him in connection with Mehak Yadav along with other gang members.
Earlier in the night of April 13 at 11:30 pm , the employee of Hotel K Square located in Bawadia Kalan had informed that the woman died under suspicious circumstances in a room of the hotel. After the information, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody. There were no serious visible injuries on the body. There were minor marks on her neck, based on the documents found from the deceased, she was identified as a (27) year old woman living in Faridabad, Haryana.
She checked into the hotel at 7:30 pm on Saturday evening. Ritul Pandey, a resident of Kolar, Bhopal, was already staying in the room where the woman was staying.
Ritul has a criminal record in Kolar police station. The accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The deceased was a member of a sex racket gang. For 4 thousand rupees, Mehak Yadav had sent him to Ritul's hotel room. On the night of the murder, Kunal had dropped the woman to the hotel. The main accused Ritul had demanded the woman from the hotel manager Yogesh. Yogesh had contacted Mehak through employee Sagar. Mehak sent the woman to the hotel, where she was murdered.
