The documents Madhya Pradesh Congress had submitted with the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, regarding termination of Congress legislator Nirmala Sapre, have reportedly gone missing from Assembly Secretariat.
Nirmala Sapre was openly seen on BJP platforms and she actively participated in BJP’s activities.
On this, senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Umang Singhar had submitted an application with the State assembly requesting the terminatiom of Sapre’s membership from the House.
Despite the passage of three months, the State Assembly is yet to act on the matter. While talking to media persons on Tuesday, Singhar said that when he enquired about the matter, the Assembly Secretariat told him that the documents submitted by him have gone missing.
However, Principal Secretary of the State Assembly AP Singh refuted Singhar's claims.Singhar said, “We had given the petition to the assembly speaker on time as per the rules, but action is still awaited despite a lapse of the 90 day period. Singhar claimed that information emanating from the secretariat suggests that the documents have been misplaced "I have again submitted the petition to the Speaker with full information. I don't think the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to take any decision on this. We are going to the High Court regarding this matter.”Singhar claimed that Sapre is involved in anti-party activities and thus his membership from the House needs to be terminated. He said, "Everyone knows how she (Nirmala) is going to the meetings of the Bharatiya Janata Party. What kind of statements she is making. It is a fact that she is completely involved in anti-party activities. That is why we are filing a petition in the High Court to cancel her membership."
