Justice has been done after 500 years: Rajnath on Ayodhya Ram temple Pran Pratishtha

Sunday, 14 January 2024 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said here on Saturday Ayodhya does not break, rather Ayodhya unites and justice has been done after 500 years in the context of Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.

He made these assertions here while addressing a get together on the occasion of Lohri and Makar Sankranti and book release titled “Tryst with AYODHYA (Decolonization of India)” written by

author Balbir Punj at Delhi University. Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh said “We have to learn from Ram how to work in public interest.”

Rajnath said as soon as the name of Ram comes to mind, the opposite name of Ravana also comes to mind. Ravana was wealthier, stronger and more knowledgeable than Ram, but Ram is still worshipped. Because, Ram followed the limits in his life.

Regarding the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, Rajnath said that justice has been done to Ayodhya after 500 years. This will be a moment of extreme feeling of national self-respect when Ram Lalla will return to the grand temple.

Discussing the book, written by Balbir Punj, he said this book exposes the cultural heritage of Ayodhya and the vote bank game and appeasement politics related to that heritage. The Defence Minister said these days many books have come out on Ayodhya and Ram. This shows that Ram is the consciousness of India.

Rajnath said Ram is not just a king but a folk hero. Ram is a man of the era, he always remained bound by dignity, hence he is called Maryada Purushottam. This adjective was not given to any other god other than Ram. Therefore, Ram belongs to everyone and Ram is in everyone. He said that everyone has their own Ram. Gandhi’ Ram is different and Lohia’s Ram is different.

Ram is not bound by any ideology. Rajnath said the temple of Ram’s birthplace in Ayodhya will be a symbol of new India. This temple will also be the pinnacle of our Sanatan faith. He said some people in this country call Ram imaginary. Ram they, Ram hain aur Ram rahenge. The truth is that Indias personality cannot be imagined without Ram.

Rajnath said Balbir Punj establishes through his book that the issue of Ram Janmabhoomi was never an issue of Hindu-Muslim conflict, but vote bank politics has made it so.
