It rained in 24 districts of Madhya Pradesh in past 24 hours

The strong rain system is active in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday as well. It rained in 24 districts. Tikamgarh received 6 inches of rain in 4 hours in the morning. The district hospital was flooded due to heavy rain in Sagar.

In Jerai village of the district, people spent the night on the roofs due to waterlogging in their houses. More than 50 cattle were swept away in the strong current. The water level of Narmada increased by 2 feet in 4 hours. At the same time, a young man was swept away in the strong current of Sindh river at Sankua Dham in Datia.

Today, there was an alert for heavy rain in 20 districts of the state including Indore, Gwalior, Chambal division. It has been raining lightly in Bhopal since morning. It also rained intermittently in Katni, Dindori, Guna and Gwalior.

It is raining continuously in Tikamgarh and Sidhi. Rivers and streams are in spate. The lower settlements are flooded. Heavy rain continues in Sagar. More than 2 inches of rain has been witnessed  here throughout the day.

Tikamgarh received the highest rainfall of 3.5 inches. Rewa received 2.4 inches of rain and Umaria received 1.5 inches of rain. At the same time, half an inch of rain witnessed in Guna, Damoh, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Malajkhand. Bhopal, Betul, Dhar, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Satna, Seoni, Indore, Khandwa, Khargone, Pachmarhi, Ratlam, Ujjain, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Rewa also received rain.

Niwari district's Jamni river is in spate. A young man is trapped on the island amid the strong current of the river. The villagers informed the Jeron police station in-charge about this at around 4 pm on Wednesday evening. Its rescue team has been dispatched.

Sagar has received more than 2 inches of rain throughout the day. Rainwater accumulated in Baghraj Ward, Tili Ward, Tirupatipuram Colony area of the city.

The rain continues in Chhindwara. Dense fog prevailed during the day due to rain in Chimtipur village of Patalkot in the district.

A part of the culvert built on Poonol drain ahead of Digaura on Tikamgarh-Jhansi road got damaged. Due to which there was a long queue of vehicles on both sides of the road. Passengers going from Tikamgarh to Prithvipur, Orchha and Jhansi are getting troubled.

The water of the Uldan dam project being built on the Dhasan river on Banda-Bandri road of Sagar reached near Uldan village. There is water up to one km away from the bridge of the river. As soon as the information was received, the top officials of the administration reached the affected area and ordered immediate evacuation of the surrounding villages. But, the villagers are not ready to leave the village.

Five out of 11 sluice gates of Pagra Dam located in Banda of Sagar were opened. Alert issued in surrounding areas.

A young man swept away in the strong current at Sankua Dham located on Sindh river in Seondha of Datia. On Wednesday afternoon, 5 youths from Murar of Gwalior had come here for a picnic. While getting into the water, the foot of a youth named Arvind Kushwaha slipped, and he was swept away in the strong current of the river. Divers are engaged in searching for him.

Heavy rains continue in Bina of Sagar on the second day on Wednesday. The SDERF team has rescued 15 people from Bildhav village here. These include a newborn and a pregnant woman. All of them were sitting on the roof of the houses for more than 6 hours wearing raincoats.

Dhasan river is in spate in Mehar village of Sagar. Water filled in two houses built on the river bank. 8 people were trapped on the second floor of these houses.
