Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) supplies Petrol and Diesel to its petrol pumps in Bhopal City through tank trucks which are filled from Reliance Industries Limited's (RIL) storage location at Bakania. It was earlier reported that from April 01, 2024, RIL is implementing the order of NGT whereby petrol would be supplied in tank trucks with bottom loading facility only. Incidentally all the tank trucks used by IOCL to fill petrol and diesel from RIL's storage point are with bottom loading facility only. Therefore, there will be no shortage of petrol at IOCL's petrol pumps even from April 01 onwards, IOCL said in a statement.
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) also fills its tankers from RIL's storage location for supplying to its petrol pumps in Bhopal City. While loading of tanker trucks without bottom loading facility will be stopped from April 01 at RIL's storage location, it is reliably learnt that HPCL is planning to make alternate arrangements like shifting few bottom loading trucks from other storage points to Bhopal, uplifting from other nearby HPCL's storage points etc.
This is as confirmed by State Level Coordinator, Oil Industry, Madhya Pradesh. Customers can be rest assured that supplies of petrol and diesel will not be affected as IndianOil has already prepared itself in line with its new Core Value of Nation First and converted long back all its tank trucks, filling out of RIL's storage point, with bottom loading facility.
