A daylong workshop of women panchayat representatives of Indore district was organized in the local Jaal-Sabha Grah on Wednesday under the chief hospitality of District Panchayat President Reena Satish Malviya. Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, District Panchayat Vice President Bharat Singh Patel, women officers of village, district and district panchayat were present in the program.
In the program, Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh praised the organization of workshop for the orientation of women panchayat representatives by Indore District Panchayat and expressed the view that after the 73rd Constitutional Amendment in 1993, provision of women reservation in Panchayati Raj system has created an important role for women representatives in village development.
Commissioner Indore Deepak Singh told the participants the example of the famous great scientist Thomas Alva Edison and said that even after being rejected by the teachers, his mother did not let the child Edison feel disappointed and the unique talent of the world of science flourished due to the love of a woman and Thomas Alva Edison made more than 1000 inventions.
The Divisional Commissioner said that this example is a symbol of the creation capability of women. The Divisional Commissioner expressed the view that by taking advice and protection from the family, the woman Sarpanch herself should make the role of Panch Parmeshwar meaningful.
Singh also gave the example of social reform related to women's education by Savitribai Phule under the guidance of Jyotiba Phule.
Chief Executive Officer District Panchayat Siddharth Jain made the participants aware of the objective and outline of the event at the beginning of the workshop.
CEO Siddharth Jain said that Gram Panchayats are the axis of rural development and women Sarpanchs have chosen to fulfill the challenging responsibility of social service and politics, which is commendable. CEO iZP Siddharth Jain called upon the participants to carry forward the legacy of public welfare and philanthropic administration of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar., Siddharth Jain said that it is not necessary that the leadership ability is inborn in the public representatives, leadership ability also develops by learning from work experience. CEO Siddharth Jain said that the sessions of the workshop have been designed for the personality development and practical knowledge of women representatives.
