TWO MINOR GIRLS DROWN IN BALIMELA RESERVOIR

Malkangiri: In a tragic incident, two minor girls died after drowning in the Balimela Reservoir in Malkangiri district. The incident was reported from Kenduguda village under Korukonda block. According to reports, four minor girls of the village had gone to the Balimela Reservoir to take a bath on Thursday afternoon. While bathing, two of them went missing in the deep water. Villagers launched a search operation in the reservoir. The bodies were recovered in the wee hours on Friday.

WOMAN DIES COMING IN CONTACT WITH LIVE ELECTRIC WIRE

Keonjhar: A woman, Purnima Mahanta, of Ramchandrapur near Keonjhar town, was electrocuted when she accidentally came in contact with a live 11-KV wire in the nearby forest on Friday. Purnima had gone to the forest to collect firewood. Villagers blamed the TPNODL authorities for poor maintenance of transmission wires and supervision of broken wire cables in remote places creating danger for public.

NUAPADA LEADER INCLUDED IN BJP NATIONAL BODY 

Nuapada: Chaturbhuj Sharma, a senior BJP leader from Khariar Road in Nuapada district, has been selected as a national executive member of BJP. He has been in BJP for long years, dedicated to strengthening the party at grassroots level. He said that he would work hard for the party since he has been given this responsibility.

TPCODL MOVE TO ENHANCE POWER SUPPLY IN KHANDAGIRI

Bhubaneswar: The TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) has embarked on an endeavour to enhance its reliability and address the increasing energy demands of the Khandagiri region in Bhubaneswar over the next decade. To meet the increasing load growth on a yearly basis in the area, as a strategic initiative, the capacity of the power transformer, along with the switchgear, is being augmented in the existing PSS, anticipating the expected load for the next 10 years.

JOURNALIST RAJAGURU' 1ST DEATH ANNIV HELD  

Brahmapur: The first death anniversary of senior journalist Chiranjit Rajguru was observed here on Tuesday with his elder brother and senior journalist Saktidhar Rajaguru performing the rituals at Gajapati Nagar here. Brahmapur MLA Bikram Kumar Panda and many other eminent persons paid tributes at the photo of late Rajaguru. In the evening, a Bhajan Samaroha was organised.
