A fire broke out at Lucky Enterprises, an electronic shop and warehouse, at 1:30 am on Friday night in Arwalia Eintkhedi, Bhopal.
The fire was so intense that several electrical appliances, including air conditioners, fridges, fans, coolers, washing machines, and water heaters, were destroyed, resulting in a loss of lakhs of rupees.
The fire spread quickly, and the Arogya Nidhi Multispecialty Hospital, located about 50 feet away, was at risk.
Fire engines from Chhola Fire Station arrived in time and controlled the blaze. Despite the timely intervention, significant damage had already occurred. Firefighters discovered a gas cylinder in the shop-warehouse, raising concerns about a potential explosion.
The fire was first reported by SI Ajay Chandravanshi of Parwalia police station, who was on night patrol. Firefighters, led by Pankaj Yadav, managed to control the fire within half an hour. However, by the time they entered the warehouse, many goods had been damaged.
The warehouse, which contained items like ACs, fridges, washing machines, LCDs, coolers, fans, and water heaters, saw most of the goods destroyed by fire. The remaining items were further damaged by the water used to extinguish the fire.
Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have started due to a short circuit in the electricity meter, which then spread to the rest of the warehouse.
