Co-ordination review meeting of the first week of October held under the chairmanship of General Manager of West Central Railway Shobhana Bandopadhyaya.
In this meeting, all the heads of departments of the headquarters including Additional General Manager RS Saxena and Chief Chief Safety Officer Mr. Prabhat Kumar were present. Apart from this, Divisional Railway Managers of Bhopal and Kota and both Additional Divisional Railway Managers of Jabalpur Division also remained connected through video conferencing.
In the meeting, emphasis was laid on safety, punctuality, freight loading, redressal of rail help complaints, station redevelopment, infrastructure construction works like RUB/LHS and ROB. Along with this, many important topics like works directed by the Railway Board and safety inspection of trains were discussed.
At the beginning of the meeting, General Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyay said that protected and safe rail operations are our priority. She directed the concerned officials to review the infrastructure works.
The General Manager directed to ensure compliance of the instructions laid down by the Railway Board regarding safety and security and to follow the safety related improvements in a planned manner. Necessary guidelines were given to speed up the work of ROB/RUB (LHS) and FOB under infrastructure construction works. Apart from this, necessary guidelines were given to speed up the station redevelopment infrastructure construction works and complete them within the time limit.
During the meeting, the General Manager said that there is a need to focus on increasing goods traffic loading and revenue. During the meeting, the General Manager said that under passenger facilities, there is a need to lay special emphasis on Rail Madad Analysis and prompt resolution of complaints of railway passengers.
She talked about monitoring the punctuality of trains, and emphasising on speed related works and safety of trains. The General Manager also reviewed the progress of infrastructure works. He said that safety is paramount for the Railways.
