The general observer of the Tehri parliamentary constituency Kunji Lal Meena asked all the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 to inform the officials concerned about vulnerable polling booths or centres where they think voters can be influenced. He asked them to provide information about such places or areas in advance to ensure the administration can make additional security arrangements there on time. He stated this in a meeting held on Tuesday in Dehradun with candidates and their representatives regarding the ensuing elections. He said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, it is necessary for the candidates contesting the elections to publish information related to their criminal history in electronic and print media. The candidates contesting the elections will also appoint their agents as per the commission’s rules. Meena said that the candidates and their respective agents can contact him directly via phone for any election related complaint or problem during the election. They can also contact the returning officer of Tehri and his team to get proper information or to clear any doubts and complaints regarding various election related problems and permissions among others. He said that the guidelines of the Model Code of Conduct are the same for all candidates and political parties and asked the candidates to ensure election related activities are being organised as per the ECI guidelines.
