Dubey, Munda, Yogendra Pratap Singh top the list of prospective BJP candidates from Godda, Khunti and Chatra

Dubey, Munda, Yogendra Pratap Singh top the list of prospective BJP candidates from Godda, Khunti and Chatra

Godda MP Nishi Kant Dubey with 65 per cent, Union minister Arjun Munda with 59 per cent and Yogendra Pratap Singh with 56 per cent are the top three BJP candidates according to a survey conducted by a reputed national Hindi daily, Dainik Bhaskar. The nationwide survey was conducted to find the best BJP and best united opposition candidate for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Polls. 

The survey, conducted between February 5 and 12, was for all Lok Sabha Constituencies of the country. In Jharkhand, Nishi Kant Dubey emerged as the most popular BJP candidate for Godda Lok Sabha seat by getting 65 per cent votes followed by Raj Paliwal who could get only 28 per  cent and Anant Ojha who managed a mere one per cent. Pradeep Yadav with 38 per cent, Dipika Pandey Singh with 22 and Furqan Ansari with 21 per cent were the most popular United Opposition candidates.

Union agriculture minister Arjun Munda got the maximum 59 per cent votes as BJP candidate from Khunti followed by Neelkanth Singh Munda 15 per cent while Kali Charan Munda with 52 per cent votes was the United Opposition’s choice. Social activist Dayamani Barla also got 22 per cent votes as Khunti’s opposition candidate.

For Chatra Lok Sabha Constituency, voters preferred Yogendra Pratap Singh as their most favourite BJP candidate. Singh got 56 per cent votes followed by Kali Charan Singh 19 per cent while the sitting BJP MP Sunil Singh was choice of only 7 per cent. For opposition, Dheeraj Sahu with 28 per cent and Subhash Yadav with 20 per cent were the top two candidates in the survey.

Sitting Jamshedpur BJP MP Vidyut Varan Mahto with 34 per cent votes is merely one per cent ahead of his party mate and former Bahragora MLA Kunal Sarangi who got 33 per cent votes. On the contrary, Ajoy Kumar got 76 per cent votes as United Opposition’s candidate.

For state capital Ranchi, sitting BJP MP Sanjay Seth got 49 per cent votes followed by Pradeep Verma 29. Former Union minister Subodh Kant Sahai got 35 while former Ranchi deputy Mayor Ajay Shahdeo got 33 per cent votes as united opposition’s candidate.

Ravindra Pandey with 28 per cent was most favourite BJP candidate from Giridih while Sudivya Sonu was the most favourite opposition candidate with 24 per cent. Sitting AJSU (BJP partner) MP Chandra Prakash Choudhary got only 18 per cent.

Raj Sinha got 34 per cent votes, Chandrashekhar Agarwal 27 per cent as BJP candidate while Oppositions choice was Neeraj Purnima Singh with 46 per cent votes followed by Dadai Dubey 19 per cent.

For Singhbhum BJP’s Arjun Munda was again ahead with 37 per cent votes followed by Barkunwar Gagrai who got 23 per cent. However, opposition’s candidate and sitting MP Geeta Koda polled 61 votes.

In Lohardaga sitting BJP MP Sudarshan Bhagat got 32 per cent while former Ranchi Mayor Asha Lakra was choice of 28 per cent voters. For opposition, Sukhdev Bhagat with 48 per cent was the top runner followed by Rameshwar Oraon with 23 per cent.

Sitting Palamu BJP MP VD Ram got 45 per cent Ghuran Ram got 53 per cet votes as united opposition’s candidate.

Manish Jaiswal of BJP has emerged as the most favourite BJP candidate from Hazaribagh with 45 per cent while sitting BJP MP Jayant Sinha could get only 27 p cent. Amba Prasad got 60 per cent votes as united oppositions candidate.

In Rajmahal, Lobin Hembrom got 37 per cent and Paritosh Soren 15 per cent as BJP candidate while sitting MP Vijay Hansda got 65 per cent followed by Hemlal Murmu’s 16 per cent as opposition choices.

In Dumka Sunil Soren got 40 per cent as BJP candidate followed by Louis Marandi with 30 per cent while opposition’s choice was Shibu Soren with 32 per cent and  Jaishri Soren  with 28 per cent.

In Koderma sitting BJP MP Annapurna Devi got 52 per cent followed by Ravindra Rai’s 13 per cent while oppositions top choices were Rajkumar Yadav 33 per cent and Pranav Varma 30 per cent.

The survey asked why should he/she be a BJP candidate and the options were (1) he/she  is young and educated, (2) he/she is party’s choice, (3) he/she has hold over a big vote bank and (4) he/she  has got a lot of development done.

The survey asked who according to the voters should be the United Opposition’s candidate. The survey was legislative constituency wise. The voters had to choose their constituency. But, this survey was conducted by Dainik Bhaskar newspaper and only a segment that reads the newspaper voted.
