A Kia Seltos car was found abandoned on the Geeta Colony flyover on Thursday morning with the police suspecting that its driver jumped into the Yamuna River.

According to the police, police are taking the help of divers to search for the car’s driver. DCP North Manoj Kumar Meena said, “A PCR call was received at Kotwali police station at around 11:15 pm regarding a Kia Seltos car found abandoned on Geeta Colony flyover, heading towards Rajghat.”

He added that it was found that the vehicle was of 46 years old Pawan Shah, a manager at Indraprastha Power Generation Co. Ltd., who has been reported missing. “One of the car’s windows was found shattered by a brick,” Meena said.

On enquiry, it has been found that Shah left his office around 2:30 to 3 PM in his car without informing colleagues or family. “Calls from both his family and colleagues went unanswered after 7:20 PM. His last known location was traced to Geeta Colony Flyover near his car,” the DCP stated.

He added that a team of divers have been put in place to search the river. Further, the police also stated that a few eyewitnesses have seen a person jumping into the river. “Further enquiry is underway and legal action would be taken accordingly,” he said.
