A district-level coordination committee meeting was held on Saturday in the auditorium of the Garhwa District Collectorate, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Jamuaar.
During the meeting, Jamuaar reviewed various welfare schemes currently being implemented in Garhwa District. In particular, he assessed the ongoing activities related to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Expressing concern over the slow progress of the Abua Housing Scheme's sanctioning process, he highlighted unsatisfactory progress reports from the blocks of Ranka, Ketar, Kharoundhi, and Majhaian, which led to his disappointment. The Deputy Commissioner instructed that all MGNREGA-related projects must be completed by 15 December 2024, and he urged for immediate action to be taken on any complaints regarding the scheme.
While discussing the activities of the supply department, Mr Jamuaar emphasised that appropriate measures would be taken against ration dealers who fail to distribute food grains promptly.
In his review of the revenue department, the Deputy Commissioner focused on issues surrounding land records, residential certificates, and caste certificates. He directed that land record cases filed within the past 30 days should be prioritised for resolution. Additional instructions were issued to ensure the timely processing of applications for land measurement.
The review meeting saw participation from various officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Pashupati Nath Mishra, Additional Collector Raj Maheshwaram, Sub-divisional Officers of Gadhwa/Ranka, the Civil Surgeon of Gadhwa, the Deputy Collector for Land Reforms, District Welfare Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Supply Officer, District Panchayati Raj Officer, Assistant Director of the Social Security Fund, District Agricultural Officer, Land Conservation Officer, and the Executive Officers of Gadhwa Municipality, as well as those from Bansidhar Nagar and Majhaian.
