The district level competitions of Mowgli Bal Utsav of the School Education Department have started across the state from October 3. Earlier in the month of September, competitions have been successfully organised at the school, Jan Shiksha Kendra and development block level.
Mowgli Bal Utsav is a message of biodiversity and environmental conservation. In Mowgli Bal Utsav, the School Education Department organises competitions in collaboration with various departments of the state government. Trekking, safari, quiz, film and cultural programmes are mainly organised in these.
Through this festival, students are introduced to nature closely. This festival has become famous not only in the state but also in the entire country.
Children's competitions are organised by creating junior and senior categories. In these competitions, essay and speech competitions are organised on topics such as rising problems of water, forest and land, importance of nature conservation, green products, mineral wealth of the state, ozone layer depletion, ill effects of polythene, river conservation, scorching earth and why the forests are distressed.
Two boys and two girls selected at the district level participate in the state level competition. The state level event of Mowgli Bal Utsav is organised in Pench Sanctuary, Seoni. This event is proposed to be organised on 7th and 8th November.
