Director General of Police Kailash Makwana, after assuming charge, has started an intensive review of all branches of police from December 9 to tighten the entire police system with the aim of strengthening peace and law and order in the state and to provide quick relief to the victim side and to instill fear of law among the criminals.
The DGP reviewed the Administration Branch on Monday, Special Branch on Tuesday December 10 and in this sequence, CID, Vigilance and Technical Services branches on Wednesday December 11 and gave necessary instructions. The branches will be reviewed till December 26.
The DGP directed that the use of cyber forensics, data analytics, and GPS technology should be increased in the investigation of crimes and investigation officers should be provided continuous training for the use of the latest technology.
SDOP and CSP level officers should improve supervision. It should be ensured that all cases are investigated on time and impartially. Necessary resources should be properly managed for the resolution of cases.
He said that CCTV, databases and various techniques should be used to find missing persons and action should be taken on priority basis in missing cases. Also, a dedicated team should be formed to study the successful policies and procedures of other states of the country and implement best practices in the state.
The DGP directed a special campaign for settlement of pending cases. For quick resolution, the concerned branches were asked to make a list of pending cases and direct them for quick action.
