Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav conducted a review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing development projects within the Chas Municipal Corporation and Phusro Municipal Council here on Thursday. The meeting, held at the district Collectorate, was attended by key officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Girja Shankar Prasad, DRDA Director Menka, Additional Municipal Commissioner Anant Kumar, and Additional Collector Mumtaz Ansari.
During the review, DC Jadhav emphasized the urgent need for malaria testing at camps organized under the "Aapki Yojana – Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwaar" (AYASAD) program. She instructed District Malaria Officer Dr. Renu Bharti to coordinate with the municipal administration to initiate this testing immediately.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over the slow progress of the Chas Water Supply Project, instructing the Additional Municipal Commissioner to conduct a thorough review and accelerate the work. She also ordered the cleaning of intake wells and water towers to ensure proper water supply in the region.
Further focusing on revenue collection, Jadhav noted that only 50% of the revenue target had been achieved by Chas Municipal Corporation. She urged officials to intensify efforts and also directed anti-encroachment drives to continue regularly.
The Deputy Commissioner further stressed the need for biometric attendance for all municipal staff and criticized the poor maintenance of Amrut park calling for action against the responsible agency.
She concluded the meeting by reviewing plans for the sewage treatment plant and solid waste management, instructing officials to expedite land acquisition for these critical projects.
