The Chhattisgarh Woman Commission (CWC) on Monday recommended a murder case must be filed against then Kabirdham Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava and other police personnel over the custodial death of Prashant Sahu in the district.
Commission chairperson Kiranmayee Nayak made the recommendations in a report submitted to the Chief Justice of India, the Chairman of the Human Rights Commission, the Chhattisgarh Governor and the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court after meeting 33 female detainees of Loharidih village in Durg district jail.
The Commission’s report also recommended medical examination and videography of their injuries.
Besides this, it recommended to register case against the Kabirdham Police for arresting women without a search warrant and using third degree on them.
