Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that while ensuring the timely availability of chemical fertilizers like urea, DAP, the use of cow-based bio-fertilizers should be encouraged in the state. Farmers are using organic manure on a large scale based on traditional experience and their own initiative.
It is also beneficial for the quality of soil and the health of the earth. There is a need to calculate and document the quantity of organic manure being used. On this basis, a model should be developed to encourage farmers to increase the use of organic manure in the state. This initiative of the state will also be exemplary for other states.
To discourage chemical fertilizers, options like organic and natural manure should be made available to farmers. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed these views during the review of fertilizer management in the state. Cooperative Minister Vishwas Sarang, Additional Chief Secretary Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary Ashok Barnawal, and other officials were present in the meeting held at the Chief Minister's Samatva Bhawan.
Yadav said that advance storage should be ensured at major centers of fertilizer distribution so that fertilizers can be provided to farmers in time as per the crop cycle. Instructions were given to develop an action plan for this.
It was told in the meeting that the sowing of crops in the state is about 97 percent. In the current year, the availability of urea, NPK, SSP, and MOP fertilizers is the highest in the last four years.
Out of the 35 lakh 68 thousand metric tons available to date, more than 32 lakh metric tons of urea have been distributed. Similarly, 9 lakh 29 thousand metric tons of NPK, 10 lakh 58 thousand metric tons of SSP, and 91 thousand metric tons of MOP have been distributed.
Similarly, 10 lakh 82 metric tons of DAP and 20 lakh 11 thousand metric tons of DAP + NPK have been distributed. In the meeting, the monthly fertilizer system in various districts was discussed and necessary guidelines were given.
