Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that Lord Shri Ram had gone to Chitrakoot via the holy land of Bahoriband during his 14 years of exile. This is the Taposthali of Shri Ram. The scheme for which the people of this area have been waiting for the last 40 years is going to be completed on Thursday.
Yadav addressed the gathering after inaugurating the construction works of the Bahoriband Lift Micro Irrigation Project worth Rs 1011.05 crore at Bahoriband in Katni district on Thursday.
Yadav said that the Bahoriband project will irrigate 32 thousand hectares of land in 151 villages of 4 tehsils of Katni district. Farmers will be able to use every drop of water for their fields through sprinkler systems, drips, etc. Land will not be used to build the canal; water will be directly available to the fields. Efforts will also be made to supply drinking water to the citizens of Katni through the project. The Chief Minister also dedicated and performed Bhoomi pujan of various development works worth Rs 55 crore for development in Katni district.
Yadav said that the Bahoriband Irrigation Project will be implemented on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to achieve maximum production through the “Drop More Crop” i.e. using every drop of water. In this, water will be supplied to the fields for soil and water conservation. He said that today the people of Bahoriband are celebrating Holi and Diwali simultaneously. The immense enthusiasm among the people of Katni despite the rain, overwhelmed him.
The Chief Minister said that Chitrakoot Dham will be made grand and divine on the lines of Ayodhya. Geeta Bhawans will be built in all the Nagar Panchayats, Municipal Corporations, and Municipal Corporations of the state after Gopal Krishna and will focus on the 18 chapters of Bhagwat Gita. Besides, a model village like Vrindavan will be built in every block. Bahoriband will be made a municipal council by adding 15 wards.
Along with building reservoirs in Gatakheda, Jujhari, Jamunia, Sihariya, Bejnala, Jamunhai of the district, the Bahoriband reservoir will be revived and the ancient pilgrimage site of Bahoriband, Rupnath, Tigwa, Bilhari, Vasudha water fall, the origin point of Ken river will be developed as a tourist destination. He said that a Dharamshala will be built in Bahoriband after ‘Haribaba Haridas’.
Chief Minister Yadav distributed benefits to the beneficiaries of various departments in the programme. He honored Shraddhanjali Shukla ‘Anjan’, the girl who translated Shrimad Bhagwat Gita from Sanskrit to Hindi.
The Chief Minister was presented a silver crown on behalf of the people of Bahoriband in the programme. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also visited the exhibition organized by women groups of Livelihood Mission, e-Governance, Agriculture, Forest, Women Child Development and Industry Department at the venue.
District in-charge and School Education Minister Rao Uday Pratap Singh said that he is working as a bridge with the state government for the welfare and development of the people of the district for which they will leave no stone unturned. Our government has made big decisions in the last eight months for the welfare of the state.
MP VD Sharma said that today is a historic day for the welfare of Katni. Yadav has launched work on an irrigation project costing Rs. 1011.5 crore today, which will change the image and destiny of 151 villages in Katni district. The people of the area had been demanding this project for many years. He said that work is being done to provide drinking water to every house under Jal Jeevan Mission. The project will provide irrigation and drinking water facilities to the people of the area. He said that the state government is committed to development and is providing easy access to facilities to the people. Local MLA Pranay Prashant Pandey, MLA Sanjay Satyendra Pathak, Sandeep Jaiswal, Dhirendra Bahadur Singh, public representatives, and a large number of farmers were present.
