Vowing stringent action against those responsible for elephant deaths at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR), Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday said that the guilty will not be spared.
Talking to mediapersons at his residence, Yadav highlighted his sensitivity towards animals and informed the press that he was personally monitoring investigations into the unfortunate incident.
Yadav stated that he is in dialogue with wildlife experts to identify safety measures for elephants in the state.
Notably, 10 wild elephants from a herd of 13 died over the last week at Madhya Pradesh's Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. A five-member team, constituted by the Chief Minister, is looking into the causes behind the deaths of the mammals.
