he Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, is hosting a "Cleanliness Fortnight" from September 17 to October 2, 2024, under the "Swachh Bharat Mission." This year, the theme established by the Government of India is "Swachhata Hi Seva; Sanskar Swachhta, Swabhav Swachhta," emphasizing the importance of cleanliness as a collective social responsibility.
On Saturday, an enthusiastic team of students, faculty, and staff participated in a comprehensive cleanliness campaign under the guidance of Director Dr. K. Ravichandran. The campaign involved thoroughly cleaning the institute's premises and the neighbouring areas, including Nehru Nagar Square. The participants demonstrated a commendable spirit of teamwork, embodying the campaign's community engagement and environmental stewardship ethos.
In a bid to streamline waste management, participants employed four distinct types of biodegradable bags for waste collection: blue bags for recyclable materials, green bags for biodegradable waste, yellow bags for plastic, and red bags for biomedical waste.
To enhance community engagement and raise awareness throughout the fortnight, the student theatre group "Pratibimba" is set to perform a street play today at DB Mall.
