Hry IAS Officers Association bid farewell to Chief Secy Dr Prasad

 

Chandigarh: The Haryana IAS Officers Association organized a  get-together to honor Dr. TVSN Prasad, an IAS officer from the 1988 batch, who will be superannuating from the post of Chief Secretary on October 31. The ceremony was attended by Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Directors, and other senior administrative officers from various departments. Throughout his career, Dr Prasad held significant positions in the State Government. His experience also extends to various roles within the Central Government and the World Bank. During the event, officers shared their experiences of working under his guidance, expressing their hope that his insights will continue to serve as a guiding force in their professional journeys. On behalf of the Haryana IAS Officers Association, Dr. Prasad was presented with a bouquet, a shawl, and a memento as a token of respect for his contributions. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Prasad expressed his gratitude for the wonderful tenure he has had and acknowledged the exceptional team of officers he worked with. 

 

Punjab Gangster shot dead in exchange of fire with police in Amritsar district

Amritsar: A gangster was shot dead on Wednesday while trying to escape police custody when he and a few other accused in a murder case were taken to a place here to make some recoveries, officials said. Gangsters Gursharan and Paras, and another person were taken to a place in this district to make some recoveries when the two gangsters picked up guns they had previously hidden in the bushes and fired at the Amritsar Rural police personnel in their attempt to flee, police said. The police personnel fired in self-defence, killing Gursharan while Paras managed to jump into a river and escape and a hunt is on to nab him, a police official said. In a statement, Deputy Inspector General of Police Satinder Singh said the gangsters were brought to the spot where they had concealed the weapons according to their disclosure statement to police. However, the two gangsters suddenly pushed the police officials and ran. They fired upon the police party after getting possession of their weapons that they hid behind the bushes, he said. The DIG said the accused were held in various criminal cases, including that of murder.

45.76 lakh metric tonnes of paddy procured in Hry


Chandigarh: Haryana Government on Wednesday said that so far 47.44 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis, out of which 45,76,822 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured. Besides this, so far 4,42,759 metric tonnes of millet (bajra) has arrived in various mandis, out of which 4,33,021 metric tonnes has been procured at MSP. An amount of more than Rs 9810 crore has been sent directly to the bank accounts of paddy and millet growing farmers. This includes Rs 8880 crore for paddy procurement and Rs 930 crore for millet procurement. 


Hry STF nabs three criminals for killing bouncer in Gurugram


Gurugram: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Haryana Police on Wednesday arrested three criminals, having a bounty of Rs 1.20 lakh, for their alleged involvement in killing a 23-year-old bouncer. According to police, the victim, Anuj, a resident of Kadarpur village, was gunned down by the accused at Ullawas Chowk when he was returning home. CCTV footage captured the chilling attack, showing the perpetrators firing on the victim on June 28. The armed assailants wearing t-shirts with an online food delivery service logo fired multiple shots at Anuj. The accused have been identified as Vikram alias Vicky alias Chaku (30), Dalbir alias Dinesh (20) and Narender Bhati (27) all residents of Sohna. The team have also recovered three country-made pistols, .32 bores and four live cartridges from their possession. A case under various sections has been registered at the Sector 65 police station. The accused kept changing their locations to avoid arrest.
