SAIL distributes aids on World Disability Day
SAIL-RDCIS, Ranchi provided wheelchairs, wheelchair commodes, walkers, knee belts, waist belts, silicone cushions etc to 50 Divyangjans and senior citizens at Kutiatu Panchayat Bhawan of Namkum block on the occasion of International Disability Day here on Tuesday. SAIL-RDCIS organised this event in collaboration with ALIMCO under its CSR scheme. On this occasion, CGM (HR) & CSR Head SJ Jachak, DGM (C&M) Gopal Krishna, Rahul Srivastava, Laxman Kumar and Nikhil Oraon from SAIL CSR were present. Avinash Sinha and Vivek were present from ALIMCO. Kutiatu Panchayat Mukhiya Nisha Oraon along with Anjali, Jyoti, Santoshi, Kiran and other women contributed to make this event successful at their own level on this occasion.
7 members of bike thief gang arrested
Ranchi police arrested seven members of bike thief gang. The police team led by City SP Rajkumar Mehta took this action based on the information received by SP Chandan Sinha. Five stolen bikes, one scooty and one pistol have been recovered from them. The arrested thieves include Tanveer Alam, Arjun Mahato, Vasudev Das, Roshan Das Bharat Das, Gufran Khan and Aamir Ansari. City SP Raj Kumar Mehta gave information about the whole case in a press conference on Tuesday morning at Lalpur police station premises. Mehta said that the members of the thief gang have revealed to the police that they used to steal motorcycles from various places in Ranchi city. After this, they used to get the number of the old motorcycle from Google, change the number of the stolen motorcycle and send the motorcycle out of the city with the help of their associates.
Celebrating Inclusion at SBPS
Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi hosted a friendly football tournament on its premises on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The match was held among the football teams of DAV Nirja Sahay, Vivekananda Vidya Mandir, Surendranath Centenary School, Holy Cross School, Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi and Deepshikha, an institute for child development and mental health. The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries like Sandip Kumar, Director Sports, Dept. of Sports and Youth Affairs, Jharkhand as the Chief Guest and Satbir Singh Sahota, Assistant area Director SOB, Jharkhand. The participants from different schools were grouped into teams along with the students of Deepshikha. It was a day that celebrated inclusion and made our students more responsible and respectful individuals.
Donation drive by SCS students
The Community Outreach Club of Surendranath Centenary School organised a donation drive as part of their Community Outreach Programme, PROJECT RAAHAT. The school collected old clothes and woollens from students, teachers, and staff members. The junior wing donated them to the Jharkhand Thallesemia Foundation, which will distribute the clothes to Kishore Nagar Orphanage and Premashraya, bringing warmth and joy to the underprivileged residing there. The senior school's donation drive was held at Guru Nanak Home for Handicapped Children, coinciding with International Day for Disabled People.
